Hollow Knight: Silksong was first set to come out in 2019, as shown in the trailer shown at the Nintendo E3 Direct in 2018. But Team Cherry had to stop working on the game and put it on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, the much-anticipated game finally showed up at the Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase, where a new trailer showing how the game works were shown. But the official release date hasn’t been set yet.
Sarah Bond, the corporate vice president of Xbox, said after the event that the games shown at the event will be out in the next 12 months. This means that Hollow Knight: Silksong will come out in June 2023 or before.
What Platforms Will It Be Available on?
Officially, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Switch. It will probably also be on the PS4 and PS5. But that isn’t known for sure right now.
In 2017, the first Hollow Knight game came out only for Windows PC. The developer later made it available for Mac, Linux, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
At the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, it was also revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on the Xbox Game Pass and PC from the start.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Trailer
Team Cherry released the first trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong so that Nintendo can officially announce the game at its E3 2019 presentation. Here’s where you can watch the trailer.
The two-minute clip starts with Hornet being taken away and ends with her getting away and exploring lush meadows and dark underground tunnels. The trailer also shows that there will be new enemies to fight, new bosses to beat, and new friends to help along the way.
There are also new towns to explore with NPCs and the quests that go with them. It told the players what Hornet’s adventures will be like in the new kingdom.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Game Play
Hollow Knight: Silksong is the follow-up to Hollow Knight, which came out in 2017. Hollow Knight was a Metroidvania game with bug people that was inspired by Dark Souls. But the main character of the Silksong will be Hornet, who is both a friend and an enemy of the main character of the first game, the Knight.
In Silksong, players will be in charge of Hornet as she starts her adventure in a whole new world with new powers. In the 2D world, Hornet will go to a kingdom where Silk and Song are in charge.

Hornets will go on adventures in new places, such as meadows, volcanoes, and underground tunnels. During the adventure, she will fight enemies and make friends. The new main character can do things like dash and sprint a lot more. She can also heal more quickly than The Knight, and she can also talk.
Instead of charms, Hornet can use tools like bombs and spiked balls. In addition, players will be able to make more tools. She doesn’t use Souls to heal or unlock skills. Instead, she uses silk. When you die, you’ll drop a bundle of silk. When you come back, you’ll have to destroy it to get more silk.
Shell Shards and Rosaries are two new forms of money in Silksong. Shell Shards can be used to fix tools and make new ones. Rosaries, on the other hand, will be used to buy things. Both of them can be found in caches or by killing enemies.
There will also be a four-part quest system: Gather, Wayfarer, Hunt, and Grant Hunt. You can get quests from NPCs and keep track of how they are going on the notice boards.
