New Maps And Modes For Winter In Halo Infinite
In the Halo Infinite Winter Update, we got two new levels and a new game mode. In the following section, we’ll discuss everything there is to know about them.
Argyle, The Latest In Cartographic Innovation
The map Argyle takes place in a cramped indoor arena within a UNSC ship. This map was developed in Halo Infinite’s Forge mode and features a compact playing area ideal for close-quarters action.
Differentiation, A Brand-new Map
Detachment is another UNSC research facility made with Forge, and it offers both indoor and outdoor settings. As a result, players may be effective from both range and up close, making this arena map ideal for fast, fluid combat.
One-Flag Covert Operations, The New Normal
The Winter Update for Halo Infinite introduced a new CTF game mode called Covert One Flag, which is a twist on the original One Flag CTF. Like in One Flag CTF, the attacking team must successfully attack and take the opposing team’s flag in order to win a round. What sets Covert One Flag apart, though, is that the attacking team has access to stealthy Active Camouflage pickups, while the defending team must rely on Threat Sensors to stop them.
Winter Update On Halo Infinite: Campaign Co-op And New Accomplishments
Campaign co-op for Halo Infinite, something players have been clamoring for since the game’s release, finally arrives with the Winter Update. It allows for online co-op play of the Halo Infinite campaign for up to four players. Keep in mind that the Banished’s forces will increase in proportion to the size of your co-op fire team, keeping things interesting.
All players’ campaign progress is saved, so if you play the game with friends and then switch to single-player, you can pick up just where you left off. Together with the cooperative mode comes Mission Replay, which lets you redo completed missions from the game’s main story whenever you like.
Please note that campaign co-op can only be played over a network connection. Unfortunately, 343 Industries has decided against adding local split-screen co-op to Halo Infinite, so if you want to explore Zeta Halo with your buddies, you’ll have to do so via online play.
Latest Campaign Successes
In addition, the update adds 24 new campaign accomplishments to Halo Infinite, some of which can only be unlocked by working with multiple other players in co-op.
Winter Update For Halo Infinite: Forge Beta
With the release of the Winter Update, Halo‘s beta version of Infinite Forge was made available to all players. Player-run map editor Forge allows users to modify current maps and build entirely new ones by spawning in custom terrain, buildings, props, sandbox items, spawn locations, and zones.

Serving as captain of the UNSC Infinity, he has played a central role in many of the key battles that have taken place in recent years, from the Requiem Conflict to the Banished ambush at Zeta Halo. #FictionFriday pic.twitter.com/NOAlsjXogN

If you create a structure that you like and wish to use again, you may save it as a prefab by grouping together several objects. It is possible to alter the weather and skybox of a map, as well as add visual and audio effect nodes to adorn the world.
Forge’s robust node graph scripting engine also allows players to design their own pop-ups for the game’s UI, power-ups, and more. For example, players can program an airplane to fly past and drop bombs when a button is pressed. In addition, you can equip your maps with detailed navmeshes that guide AI-operated robots around obstacles.

Forge is bundled with the Content Browser in Halo Infinite, a platform that lets players share their Forge creations with the community. The most popular community-made modes, maps, and prefabs will all have their own dedicated tabs within the Content Browser, and developers will recommend content in the form of a separate Recommended tab.
When logged into their Halo Waypoint account, fans will have access to the Content Browser there as well as in-game. When the third season of Fortnite begins on March 7, 2023, the Custom Games Browser, a feature that will allow users to join ongoing Custom Games lobbies, will be a great complement to Forge.
Will 343 be adding community maps into matchmaking regularly? How easy/difficult is that to do?
We want to do this as soon as possible but it will take a bit of time. It first requires content to be created by the community. Then, 343 needs to identify that content and work with the author(s) to make sure that content meets our functional requirements (works as expected, performs well, etc). Once the content has been finalized, we then need to add it to a playlist.
We do have plans for a Forge playlist that highlights only community-created content. We’re eager to see how the community embraces Forge and will look for opportunities to continue evolving our approach to Forge content in Matchmaking as warranted.
When does The Pit hit matchmaking?
The Pit remake is targeted to land in Matchmaking before the end of the year, with other official legacy map remakes planned for further down the road. We’ll have more details to share later, but in the meantime, we expect no shortage of awesome throwback community creations that could also make their way into Matchmaking (per the question above).
When do you think you’ll consider Forge out of Beta? Is it based on performance or the amount of content in the mode?
For the most part, the Beta label means that we still want to apply more polish and bug fixing to some aspects of the experience in addition to seeing what new issues and opportunities may arise as we release Forge into the wild at a massive scale. Forge is an incredibly robust and ambitious feature, and while the team has spent years developing and iterating on it, nothing can truly equal the level of feedback and data we’ll get from players around the world.
