“Halo Infinite” has been through a lot since it first came out. Initially, the game received major updates called “seasons.” Later on, it switched to smaller updates, known as “Content Updates” or CUs. People started to think maybe that was it for big changes. But that’s not the case.
The company making the game, 343 Industries, has just announced there’s a big new update on the way. This update is going to make the game’s online connections much better, which they’re calling a “networking overhaul.” And there’s more new stuff coming along with this update!

The latest update for the game is coming on March 19th. It’s packed with features that players have been asking for, including:
- A big improvement to how the game connects players online, making it work better.
- Changes to how weapons work to make the game more balanced.
- Better tools to stop cheating in the game.
- A new mode where players can customize their Firefight games.
- Fixes for various game bugs and issues to make it run smoother.
This new way of connecting players was first tried out in December 2023 with a game mode called Firefight: King of the Hill.
People liked it, and after making some more improvements and listening to what players said, the team behind the game, 343 Industries, believes this update will make the game much better to play.
Another exciting part of the update, besides making the game work better, is a feature called Squad Battle. It’s a mode that fans of Halo really like because it reminds them of the classic Halo experience where teams of 8 vs 8 battle each other.
As someone who helps test new features, I’ve seen some of the cool things coming with this update, and players who love Squad Battle will be really happy.
The update also includes new maps for players to explore and play in:
- Perdition
- Refuge
- Timberland Evolved
- Rendezvous
- Gyre
- Harvest
- Behemoth
These changes and new additions are expected to make the game even more enjoyable for players.
