GTA Series Began As Dinosaur Video Game! The Grand Theft Auto series wasn’t always a sure thing, even though GTA 5 may be one of the best-selling video games ever.

Early Rockstar North employee Colin Macdonald revealed that GTA 1 was based on a tech presentation that showed a dinosaur running amok in a metropolis, and that staff members at the time thought it had a remote chance of success in a recent interview with the BBC.

Mike Dailly, one of the founding programmers at Rockstar North (then known as DMA Design), created the tech demo, according to Macdonald, to investigate the potential of a top-down perspective.

One employee proposed that it would be more enjoyable to manage one of the automobiles rather than the dinosaur after adding moving cars to the city to give it some life, and this idea dictated the project’s future focus.

Additionally, Macdonald revealed to the BBC that during the creation of GTA 1, the team at the firm ranked it as having the lowest chance of success among the games they were currently working on. At the time, he claimed, the game was glitchy and challenging to play, but in the final six months of production, it found its footing.

Regarding other GTA news, Rockstar recently declared that it will keep supporting role-playing servers as long as they lacked NFTs. We also know that GTA 6 is in the early stages of development owing to one of the largest leaks in video game history that occurred earlier this year.

According to current plans, Vice City will be the setting, and the two major protagonists will probably have a Bonnie and Clyde-style connection.
