The release date for GTA 6 and the reveal trailer have been updated, according to a well-known Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto insider. The good news is that they’re not that far apart. Unfortunately, neither date has been set yet, perhaps because Rockstar Games hasn’t considered it. It does provide opportunities for both, but that is different from choosing a specific day.
Tez2, a trusted source with a history of accurate predictions, claims that the next Grand Theft Auto game will be announced this year, most likely during the holiday window, and released in time for the holidays in 2024. But, the insider cautions that Rockstar Software may need to slice the game and remove the pieces as free DLC later to meet these dates.
“Their aimed-always-changing-not-set-in-stone deadline is holiday 2024. Which has been pushed back multiple times the past few years. Unfortunately, it could slip into early 2025 as well,” the Tez2 explains.
“Speaking of which, most companies are returning with a “forced return to office” policy to revert back to pre-pandemic days. Activision Blizzard is already met with internal backlash. Rockstar is no different.

The debate and consequences of the policy are a whole other topic. With almost the entirety of the workforce in office, Rockstar could be more firm about an announcement this year. Yet, losing work talent could very much lead to more delays.”
“I personally see an announcement as a given this year. I don’t think the upper management is in a position to delay further to holiday 2025/2026. Cutting more portions of the game to package into DLCs to release later on may be sustainable for management than delaying further.”
Whether or not a PC version will be available at launch or at all is unknown, although Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be accessible on the PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
