Rockstar confirmed the existence of a new GTA game over a year ago, but no official details have been released. But with the Take-Two CEO recently suggesting a release date in the fiscal year 2025, GTA 6 is now closer than ever.
The CEO anticipates record-breaking sales, which is not unexpected for a fresh GTA installment. Rockstar is expecting GTA 6 to continue the success of GTA 5, which set new records.
According to a gaming expert, GTA 6 is expected to sell more than 25 million copies when it debuts. For many years, GTA 6 has been speculated and awaited. Additionally, it will be the longest time between two Rockstar GTA games, increasing fan anticipation.
Joost Van Dreunen, an industry expert, featured GTA 6 in his most recent email. The newsletter claims that 25 million is a conservative estimate for sales, and it expects to generate at least $1 billion quickly.

GTA 6 will launch with fewer players than GTA 5 did. More than 38.4 million PS5 devices have been sold, and Sony anticipates selling over 63 million units by Q1 2024. Sales of the Xbox Series S|X, however, are unclear.
Microsoft does not release official statistics, although the system is thought to have sold over 20 million units already. By the time GTA 6 comes out, both systems will have sold at least 100 million units.

By the time GTA 5 was launched, the PS3 and Xbox 360 had sold almost 160 million units combined. Still, 100 million players should provide Rockstar with a good player base. The anticipation for the game and the booming video game market may enable GTA 6 to sell 25 million copies at launch, even with fewer players.
