Now accessible is the God of War Ragnarök New Game Plus (NG+) update. We’ve compiled all the information you require below to make sure you’re ready to return to the Nine Realms.
God of War Ragnarök’s NG+ Mode Brings New Opportunities
With God of War Ragnarök’s NG+ mode, new items, a higher level cap, and new enchantments are all introduced. Once you’ve completed the game, you can go immediately into an NG+ save to play through the story again with a ton of additional gameplay options accessible right away.
You can utilize your whole inventory right away because your previous save’s gear, skills, and weapons—including the Draupnir Spear—will all be carried over. Please be aware that you will not have access to Sonic and Hex arrows at the beginning of the game.
You won’t be able to enter any regions that require those arrows or the Draupnir Spear until you’ve completed the main questline and reached the point where those areas are accessible through the story.

New Equipment
Armor of the Black Bear
Rest assured that since the release of God of War Ragnarök, we have been paying attention to requests to include Kratos’ cloak from the opening sequence. Even after the sled pursuit, Kratos will stay warm against the Fimbulwinter frost thanks to the Black Bear Armor.
With a perk that rewards your last-second evades with a salvo of Bifröst shards, it has attributes that are mostly focused on Strength and Defense. The Black Bear Armor will be on you at the start of your NG+ run.
Spartan Armor
The Spartan Armor is for you if you want to put your abilities to the test and take on the hardest challenge in God of War Ragnarök. The Spartan Armor allows you to approach defense in a more… spartan manner because it has no Perk, no Stats, and is locked at Power Level 1.
For those of you who want to minimize your power and eliminate space for error, this package is ideal. Give the set a shot if you have the fortitude to meet Ragnarök pecs-first!
You can always transmog this armor onto another set to get the aesthetic without sacrificing protection if you’re more into the Spartan General look and less into the difficult gameplay. The Spartan Armor is available in the Huldra Brothers’ Store for Hacksilver.
Ares Armor
The Ares and Zeus armors, which have new aesthetics and Perks, are returning favorites from God of War 2018’s New Game Plus. The Ares Armor offers the potential for a Healing Stone to fall into contact with the fortunate.
When you trample the health stone, you also experience a larger explosion and wrath gain. At the Huldra Brothers’ Store, the Ares Armor may be purchased for Hacksilver.
Zeus Armor
The ultimate risk-reward playstyle will be made possible by the Zeus Armor. With this set, your runic and melee damage is considerably increased, and incoming damage is likewise raised.
With the Zeus Armor on, one strike could be enough to kill even Kratos, so be aware of your adversaries’ locations as you get ready to punish with the raw strength this armor offers.
By fighting Gná the Valkyrie Queen and finishing a few Remnants of Asgard on an NG+ save, it is possible to obtain the Zeus Armor.
Spartan Aspis – New Shield
In God of War Ragnarök, the Spartan Aspis makes a triumphant return and proudly exhibits Kratos’ origins. Similar to the tried-and-true Guardian Shield, the Spartan Aspis has a much smaller Parry window.
Successful Parries result in a more damaging payoff, although being more difficult to time. At the Huldra Brothers’ Store, the Spartan Aspis can be purchased with Hacksilver.

Armor Appearances
We’ve also revamped 13 of our current armors with new color schemes and styles that weren’t previously available for those of you looking to keep things interesting.
You can purchase these appearances from the Huldra Brothers’ Store and use the transmog menu to apply them to any of your existing Level 9+ armor pieces. After conquering the Berserker King on NG+, one can obtain the new Berserker Armor look.
New Level Cap
With a higher level cap, Kratos and your adversaries will both gain strength in NG+. Everything of your Level 9 gear (armor, weapons, weapon components, and shields) can be upgraded to new “Plus” versions that offer more advanced levels.
A Gilded Coin that can be used to buy one of the new Enchantments from the shop is produced when you convert your equipment. The shop has also received a quality-of-life change, allowing you to buy and sell resources gradually. It’s now easier to buy and trade materials to get your equipment ready for your NG+ run than Kratos’ scalp.
New Enchantments
Gilded Coins – Engraving and Badge Enchantments
The new Enchantments that are now available in the shop are for you if you’ve ever puzzled over which armor to choose since you couldn’t decide on a favorite Perk! They allow you to equip a variety of potent and useful perks obtained from armor (engravings) and shield rönds (badges) in your amulet as enchantments.
For instance, the Dragon Engraving, which comes with the Dragon Scaled Breastplate Perk and Dragon’s Fury (blocks and parries result in a Strength/Defense stacking benefit), is available for purchase.
You can combine two separate chest armor benefits by putting that in your amulet while wearing a different chest piece, such as the brand-new Cuirass of Ares.
To encourage and reward you for becoming as creative with your builds as possible, the most potent enchantments from the Gilded Coins will have certain Stat requirements that must be met. We’re excited to see the combos you come up with with all the additional options available.
Berserker Soul Drops – Stat Boost Enchantments
New enchantments for your arsenal will be given to you for defeating the Berserker Souls on NG+. Although not as eye-catching as some of the Perk Enchantments, these will provide you significant stat improvements so you may lean even more into the build you want.
Burdens
With the help of a brand-new collection of enchantments called burdens, you can use unfavorable perks to prepare for a certain challenge. For instance, when Kratos rolls, the Burden of Evasion will instantly grant him the Frost status effect.
You can combine Burdens and the Spartan Armor for an especially painful encounter that will increase difficulty. Also, we’ve added a brand-new UI option called Display Difficulty (Difficulty HUD Visualization), which will show both the number of Burdens you’ve equipped and the current difficulty setting on the HUD.
For your buddies, feel free to relax a little bit. At the Huldra Brothers’ Store, burdens can be purchased with hack silver.
New Progression Paths
New Skill Mod Plus
By using XP to upgrade your current Skill Mod tokens, you can improve the effects of your preferred Mods.
Platinum Tier Labors
Keep any progress you’ve made on your Ratatasks or Kill Labors, and you can keep gaining access to new Platinum Tier goodies.
Additional Stat Gains
Yggdrasil Dew is now available in Nornir Chests, enabling players to significantly increase Stats’ potential.
Expanded Niflheim Arena
Endgame Bosses
Do you feel confident taking on the Valkyrie Queen Gná and the Berserker Souls? Even if you’ve defeated them before, the toughest optional bouts will still be challenging when you encounter them in NG+ because we made sure they had a few switch-ups.
Other Enemy Adjustments
Available on All Difficulties in NG+
Two of our optional mini-bosses, the Hateful and the Ormstunga, have received some new abilities. In your NG+ run, be sure to visit them whenever you can.
Available on Give Me No Mercy and Give Me God of War in NG+
Every boss and mini-boss has Runic Armor if you choose to play on the Give Me No Mercy or Give Me God of War difficulties. In these battles, effective Runic language can mean the difference between success and failure.
In addition, to Give Me God of War, adversaries can now also become elite in NG+’s Give Me No Mercy. As you observe an elite enemy change in battle, be sure to keep a close eye on them as their Power Level will rise.
Black and White Render Mode
Want to relive the experience with a more cinematic twist? For any future NG+ or ordinary New Game saves, once you’ve completed the game, you’ll have access to a new Black and White Render Mode. The new mode is accessible through the Graphics & Camera settings menu.
