With the release of Version 3.8, Genshin Impact players are finally getting a glimpse of significant information leaks regarding the new Fontaine region, including the complete set of abilities for the Hydro Traveler.
While Genshin Impact boasts a diverse roster of characters from various parts of Teyvat, equipped with Visions of different elements and wielding multiple weapons, the Traveler stands out due to their adaptable elemental affinity.
Throughout the numerous updates of Genshin Impact, players have obtained the Anemo, Geo, Electro, and Dendro elements for the Traveler’s arsenal. Now Fontaine seeks to introduce Hydro as a new addition.
The Dendro Traveler has proven to be an unexpectedly formidable option for numerous high-tier teams in Genshin Impact, particularly those that depend on Yae Miko for Aggravate reactions or utilize Raiden Shogun’s elemental recharge scaling.
As Hydro takes the spotlight in the Fontaine region, players of Genshin Impact eagerly anticipate that the developers at HoYoverse will maintain the Traveler’s impressive performance from Sumeru and deliver a fresh set of abilities that can rival the current meta.
Shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit by the user No-Lifeguard4399, fans now have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Hydro Traveler and their set of abilities, courtesy of leaked information from Mero and Blednaya.
In line with tradition, the Traveler’s Sword retains its Normal and Charged Attacks without any changes. However, the introduction of the Aquacrest Saber enables the Traveler to transform into a veritable machine gun at the cost of their health.
By quickly tapping the new Elemental Skill, a powerful wave of water is unleashed, while holding the skill for up to six seconds will cause the Traveler to bombard enemies with droplets of dew continuously.
Reddit user No-Lifeguard4399 shares a post:
Interestingly, the Aquacrest Saber will have an intriguing interaction with the newly introduced Spiritsbreath mechanic in Fontaine. Characters from Fontaine will receive either Pneuma-aligned or Ousia-aligned damage bonuses through this mechanic, which is believed to be an extension of the duality theme present in Fontaine.
While it remains uncertain how exactly this new mechanic will impact combat in Fontaine and whether it will extend to the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact, Lynette, Lyney, Freminet, and the Hydro Traveler all appear to have some form of interaction with it.

The Hydro Traveler’s latest Elemental Burst is named Rising Waters, which, based on the description, appears to resemble a slower version of the Elemental Burst found in the Anemo Traveler’s kit.
To counter the health drain caused by the Aquacrest Saber, Hydro Travelers will possess a passive talent that restores their HP whenever they collect a Sourcewater Droplet.
These droplets are generated using the Hold version of the Aquacrest Saber after striking an enemy. Overall, it may be premature to assess the Hydro Traveler’s strength in Genshin Impact at this stage, but their kit presents a unique proposition.
