We’re just halfway through Genshin Impact 4.1, and there’s already talk about Genshin Impact 4.2 leaks and rumors. For those who are unaware, Genshin Impact 4.1 introduced two new characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, in addition to those who featured in the Archon Quest, which was moderately distressing for us players and ten times as much for Furina during Knave’s tea party, while Neuvillette was away on a “business trip.”
In any case, Genshin Impact 4.2 will introduce new bosses, events, and other goodies, so here’s everything we know so far about the Genshin Impact 4.2 release date, banners, characters, and, of course, those precious Primogems.
Genshin 4.2 Release Date
Version 4.2 of Genshin Impact will be released on November 8, once the second phase of version 4.1 concludes. Each Genshin Impact edition lasts 42 days and is divided into two periods of 21 days each.
Since the release of 4.1 on September 27, the first phase will expire on October 18, and the second phase will end on November 7. The preinstallation function will be accessible a few days before the release date of Genshin Impact, which is November 8.
Genshin Impact 4.2 Livestream
The Genshin Impact Livestream for a forthcoming edition takes place two weeks before the release date. The livestream for Genshin Impact 4.2 was slated for October 27, i.e., Friday. The Genshin Impact 4.2 Livestream has been postponed owing to the death of a Chinese official, and there is no word on when it will be rescheduled.
Genshin Impact Version 4.2 Special Program Postponement Notice
Dear Travelers,
The Version 4.2 Special Program that was originally scheduled to be broadcast on 10/27/2023 will be postponed. Please stay tuned for subsequent announcements regarding the specific broadcast time.— Genshin Impact (@GenshinImpact) October 27, 2023
It should be available next Friday, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement. The broadcast will first be available on the official Genshin Impact Twitch account, followed by the game’s YouTube channel later in the day.
Genshin Impact 4.2 Banners
According to Uncle YC, a reliable Genshin Impact leaker, the 4.2 banners will contain Furina and Ayato, as well as Baizhu and Cyno. While nothing is known about Furina, she is the current Hydro Archon of Fontaine.
HoYoverse will most certainly publish more information on Furina and the future banners in the coming months, so we’ll be sure to update this area as soon as further information is released.
Genshin Impact 4.2: Characters and Weapons
Furina and Baizhu are said to appear in the first half of Genshin Impact, while Cyno and Ayato are said to appear in the second half. The arrangement of the second-half flags, however, is still undetermined.
In terms of four-star characters, the first half will feature Charolette, Beidou, and Collei; as of now, we don’t know who will appear in the second half of Genshin Impact 4.2.
Furina’s and Baizhu’s trademark weapons, Splendor of Tranquil Waters and Jadefall’s Splendor are expected to emerge in the first phase of Genshin Impact 4.2’s weapon banner.
Based on the characters, the weapon banner in the second phase will most likely contain Staff of the Scarlet Sands and Haran Geppaku Futsu, the characteristic weapons of Cyno and Ayato, respectively. Stay tuned for further information about the Genshin Impact 4.2 weapons and characters on the website.
Genshin Impact Map Expansion
As previously announced, Fontaine will be expanding to the east into Liyue, introducing a series of new islands along the map’s eastern side. This comprises both land and a massive new undersea zone.
The current Fontaine map, as you can see (and no, I didn’t zoom out to flex my progress), is more stretched upward than sideways. More territories on the right side, approaching Liyue, should be added in Genshin Impact 4.2.
This also hints at the supposed new Liyue region called Chenyu Vale, which is set to arrive in 4.4. We’ve already heard from several NPCs that most people enter Fontaine through Chenyu Vale because trekking through the Sumeru Desert is a demanding sport.
Genshin Impact 4.2: New Bosses
Genshin Impact 4.2 will include a new weekly boss who is linked to the narrative, story, and Childe. Early prototypes of the monster have just been revealed, showing that it would be a behemoth of a boss.
The Whale Boss, like any weekly boss, will have phases where it summons a humanoid that looks eerily like Childe in Foul Legacy form and the seven Knights we faced in the Chasm (we’ll leave it at that).
We are NOT looking forward to having this boss in the Spiral Abyss; Hoyo, please have mercy!

Furthermore, there is another boss, but there aren’t enough specifics to define him yet. Keep an eye on this post for further information about the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.2 bosses.
Genshin Impact 4.2 Events
Four Genshin Impact 4.2 events have so far been revealed, one of which is a flagship event. In case you didn’t know, Genshin Impact grants gamers free characters during even-numbered editions and a free weapon during odd-numbered ones.
Thelxie, an NPC, will host 4.2’s flagship event, which will be a battle event in which players will earn various boosts to take on tasks. After successfully fulfilling the event’s objectives, users can exchange the event’s restricted cash for a free Freminet and other incentives.
Other events planned for Genshin Impact 4.2 include:
- Five Flushes of Fortune
- Fabulous Fungus Frenzy
- Misty Dungeon: Realm of Light
