Fortnite appears to be getting a ranked mode at last, allowing those who have participated in competitive play to finally have a clearer idea of how they compare to other players.
This week, Epic Games indicated as much by posting a quick video that featured a variety of badges like those used to denote various ranks in other competitive video games. It is unknown when this feature will be included, though, and some people think it might be related to a racing mode that Fortnite is expected to get in the future.
If you’ve played ranked modes in other games, it’s not a stretch to assume that’s exactly what this teaser is alluding to even though the teaser for the alleged ranked mode was brief and offered very little in the way of details.
Eight different symbols appear to be associated with the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond grades at first glance. There are three more ranks after that, although the names of those types of ranks vary from game to game.
Regardless of the game you’re playing, however, those ranks are where the greatest players, including streamers, professionals, and others, may be found.

Additionally, it’s important to note that the Fortnite Competitive Twitter account, which posts information on the game’s competitive aspects separately from the broader battle royale experience, replied to the message with a wry emoji.
Although this is undoubtedly exciting for professionals and other skilled players, it does raise concerns about how Epic Games’ ranked mode in Fortnite will function. How will it compare the worth of placements to in-game factors like a player’s kill total?

As developers try to prevent ways players could abuse the system, such as “ratting” in matches to rank up without interacting with others, we see other games like Apex Legends continuously tweaking their systems to this day to find what works the best.
Players will have to wait until a later time to make judgments about the initial release of Fortnite’s ranked scene, but it is expected that it will experience its competitive challenges.
Shiina shares a tweet:
Fortnite is working on a car racing game mode that can be played in both normal and competitive modes!
It *might* be released within the next 5 months, and seems to offer 18 divisions with player rankings.

There is also some conjecture that this ranking environment may be related to a racing mode of some kind, which is a little out of left field here. It was previously hinted at by Fortnite insiders that there would be a ranking system for that mode, however, it’s not yet clear if today’s official teaser refers to that information.
