Fallout New Vegas Release Date
Before Microsoft’s acquisition of the studio in 2018, Obsidian was a privately held firm. After some time, Microsoft purchased ZeniMax, the company that owned Bethesda, and thus today both Obsidian and Fallout are managed by the same company.
“Because I wanted to spend more time working on Fallout, I ended up staying at Interplay for perhaps an additional year. I’m a huge fan of Fallout “Urquhart was quoted as saying to DualShockers.
It would seem that Obsidian is a very active studio, with many teams working on a variety of projects simultaneously. The role-playing game Pentiment is scheduled to be launched in November, while the 1.0 edition of the survival game Grounded was only just made available.
In addition, Obsidian is working on the role-playing game Avowed as well as the sequel to The Outer Worlds. Urquhart said that there should be a point in the future when Obsidian can think about its next project, and he has high hopes that Fallout will be one of those projects.
“At some time we’ll start looking at what those future games are going to be, and I would be shocked if Fallout is not on that list,” he added. “I would be astonished if Fallout was not on that list.” “If we were to do Fallout, it needs to fit in with what Bethesda is doing with Fallout and a lot of other things,” the developer said, “but I would always personally say my goal is that before I ride off into the sunset, I’d want to produce another Fallout game.”
2010 saw the debut of New Vegas for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, and players immediately fell in love with the game. The director of that game, Josh Sawyer, said that he and other Obsidian devs are interested in creating another Fallout game in the future.
Before that, Urquhart discussed some of the ideas he has for the upcoming New Vegas sequel. Urquhart said in 2013 that “I believe if we were to make Fallout: New Vegas 2—or simply a new Fallout—we would definitely segregate it from what the internal team at Bethesda’s doing.”
This was in reference to the fact that Bethesda was working on a new game at the time. “Because we’re from the West Coast, we’d keep it here on that side of the country. Since they’re located on the East Coast, that makes perfect sense.”
This month marks the 25th anniversary of Fallout, and to commemorate the event, Bethesda is throwing a party that will last for the whole month.
Interplay was responsible for the development of the first Fallout game, whereas Black Isle was in charge of producing Fallout 2. (1998). After that, Bethesda bought the rights to the Fallout franchise and started creating new installments of the series in-house, beginning with Fallout 3.
With regard to potential Fallout ventures, Bethesda and Amazon Studios are developing a Fallout television series in collaboration with the minds behind Westworld. Fallout 5 will also be developed by Bethesda Game Studios, but it won’t be released for quite some time since the game will be released after The Elder Scrolls 6, which will be released after 2023’s Starfield.
