The release of Fable 4 has been delayed. It was at the Xbox 2020 Showcase that the long-awaited Fable was officially unveiled, ending years of speculation. Playground Games, the developers of the Forza Horizon games, are taking on the project.
The release date of Fable 4 has not yet been announced. According to the trailer, the newest installment in the series isn’t even called Fable 4. After venturing into steampunk terrain with Fable 3, the teaser shows us picturesque villages, bubbling brooks, and lush forests, hinting the franchise will return to its fantasy roots.
Come along as we speculate on what may or may not show up in the upcoming open-world game and gush about what we’re hoping to see in the newly announced Fable.

Fable 4 Release Date
So, let’s begin with the fact that there is currently no set date for Fable’s release. To be honest, knowing that a sequel to one of the best PC games is still in development is enough to make us happy right now, even if we’ve only seen a brief announcement teaser.
TV spot for Fable
As part of Xbox and Bethesda’s 2020 showcase, the first trailer for Fable was shown. The story opens with a fairy soaring through a mystical woodland, dodging swords and skulls while a calming British narrator reads the opening paragraphs. Humorous in a very Fable way, right up until a huge toad eats the fairy and the camera pans over the treetops to reveal Bowerstone. But alas, there are no chickens.
Fantasy world
And this brings us to the scene. The town of Bowerstone featured prominently in both Fable games, can be seen in the background. But the trailer makes Bowerstone look far larger than in previous games. The village appears to spread out between the hilltops, pointing to a wider setting and maybe a larger open world than we have seen before.

Creation of a Fable
On his Twitter account, Playground Games’ chief engineer Tom Gaulton disclosed that he has been developing Fable for four years. It seems Playground Games wants to take things gradually, as most games with this much development time offer more than a teaser video. Not knowing when the game will be released is disappointing.
