The upcoming chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online was first unveiled during Xbox & Bethesda’s Developer Direct, and its tiny initial glance surely aroused fan excitement. The highly anticipated Arcanist Class and other features of the upcoming Necrom expansion for Elder Scrolls Online were showcased in a cinematic trailer released by ZeniMax Online Studios.
While the strong new Class won’t be available to players until June, anticipation is high for the upcoming update. The Elder Scrolls Online has been through a lot since its inception in 2014.
ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda were able to turn the game’s fortunes around and win over fans with its free-roaming exploration, expanded approach to the beloved universe of Elder Scrolls, and multiplayer components, despite the game’s lukewarm first reaction.
The Elder Scrolls Online has seen a steady stream of content expansions and downloadable content packs (DLCs) throughout the years, with the latest Necrom Chapter looking to be one of the most promising ever.

Elder Scrolls Online Arcanist: A New Way to Play Necrom Expansion
The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom Chapter, released as part of the Shadow Over Morrowind narrative, will combine the previously released Scribes of Fate Dungeon DLC and the not-yet-announced 2023 DLC in telling a linked story centered around the Daedric Prince of Knowledge, Hermaeus Mora.

Each new piece of content will stand on its own, but they will all add to the larger story by offering new zones for players to discover, returning features, and the Arcanist Class.
Through the Necrom Chapter, players can explore the depths of Morrowind and Oblivion, including the Telvanni Peninsula and the Apocrypha, in search of the many secrets and challenges tucked away there. Play as an agent of Hermaeus Mora and uncover a mysterious threat to the Daedric Prince’s most jealously guarded secrets across more than 30 hours of engaging narrative material.
The Necrom Chapter will allow players to dive further into some of the bizarre and fantastic features of the Elder Scrolls world, and they will meet paths with familiar faces like the Morag Tong assassin Naryu as well as new characters.
The Arcanist is the first new Class in a long time for The Elder Scrolls Online, and its players are understandably curious about the powerful Magicka at their disposal. The six existing Elder Scrolls Online classes—Necromancers, Wardens, Dragon knights, Sorcerers, Nightblades, and Templars—include some magical skill sets within their ranks, but the addition of the Arcanist adds a new dimension to the arcane arts and provides a more expansive option for players wanting to occupy that specific space.
According to the Elder Scrolls Online site, the Arcanist is a strong new class capable of destructive, restorative, or protective magic by channeling arcane energies, ancient runes, and lost tomes of power. The Arcanist is a versatile choice that can function as offensive, defense, or support for the player party, and shares some similarities with the Necromancer Class in that it can injure and cure using magical techniques.
