Bungie has announced when the new raid activity will start in The Final Shape, and it’s happening sooner than expected. Let’s go over what we know about this exciting PvE event.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid Launch Time
The Final Shape raid will start on June 7, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. This is earlier than usual because Bungie usually waits about a week and a half after releasing an expansion to launch a raid.

You’ll have just three days to prepare for this raid, which will include facing the Prism subclass and a new faction called the Dread inside the Traveler.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid Story and Updates
Apart from confirming the release date, Bungie is keeping quiet about the story of the new raid. Raids in Destiny 2 usually bring new challenges after the main campaign, and with The Final Shape hinting at a big showdown with The Witness, we’re curious to see which enemy will be waiting for players at the end of the Light and Darkness saga.
There are different possibilities—this raid might follow The Taken King expansion and have players face The Witness in its strongest form, similar to how Oryx was defeated at the peak of his power in the Ascendant Realm.
Xivu Arath is another possibility for this raid, a dangerous figure who has been a lingering threat since being separated from her Throne World in Season of the Witch. Destiny 2’s roadmap also suggests that the Hive god of war will come to challenge players after The Final Shape.
The Final Shape will also bring quality-of-life updates, especially focusing on improving the clan system in Destiny 2. Hawthorne, the clan vendor, will have a reputation track where Guardians can earn clan reputation by completing activities.
Clan bounties will be updated with two new types—one for seasonal content and one for dungeons—and all clan bounties will reward clan reputation. For established teams, it’s a good idea to visit Hawthorne and grab these bounties before heading into the raid.
Additionally, clan perks will be refreshed, granting players discounts on Raid Banners, Exotic engrams, and more each week when they complete a fresh raid run.
