There hasn’t always been good news about CD Projekt Red’s massive science fiction romp Cyberpunk 2077, but last year’s unveiling of the first big DLC was exciting nonetheless. Players were both excited and disappointed to learn in April 2022 that Phantom Liberty would be Cyberpunk 2077’s first and only DLC, with players applauding the addition of new content but lamenting the absence of further updates.
Nonetheless, the Phantom Liberty teaser raised intriguing questions and revealed fascinating new information. Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 has not been given a release date or detailed material yet, but that hasn’t stopped fans from making a wishlist of everything they’d like to see in the expansion, from gameplay tweaks to story additions.
Phantom Liberty has a lot riding on delivering a solid, bug-free experience after Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty has quietly recovered its reputation after its less-than-ideal release. The developer is aware of this. Thus, the downloadable content has the potential to be excellent.
What Do Fans Want to See in Phantom Liberty?
Cyberpunk 2077 has seen steady development and plenty of bug fixes since its 2020 release, but some players are curious about what the future holds for the exciting setting of Night City. CD Projekt Red has given players enough hints to speculate about what they want to see in the DLC by teasing a few features.
Fans are aware that, in addition to familiar faces, there will be some new ones. The return of Keanu Reeves’s renegade rocker Johnny Silverhand has been confirmed, but players may hope that other fan favorites like Judy Alvarez and Panam Palmer appear.
Many players hope Phantom Liberty will fix the problems encountered when driving in Cyberpunk 2077. The planned vehicle combat in the expansion would benefit significantly from more personalization options, improved mechanics, and a more polished experience.
Another popular idea was to add random NPC events and improved AI to make Night City feel more alive in the vein of Rockstar Games. The massive expanse of Night City, which is expanding again, must feel as lively and genuine as possible.

What Will Be the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077?
Thanks to some teaser trailers and news updates from last year, fans already get a taste of Phantom Liberty. The reveal of Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed, an FIA agent working for the NUSA, was an exciting addition that players weren’t necessarily expecting.
It will allow them to explore a new part of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. The plot of Phantom Liberty is still entirely under wraps, but the developer has revealed that the DLC will have a spy thriller feel, which should be refreshingly different from the original game.
Considering the new thriller emphasis, gamers may anticipate infiltration, stealth missions, and other classic espionage activities, which should add much replay value to the expansion.
According to the developers, Phantom Liberty is “a new style of plot, which we’re having fun with,” suggesting that the downloadable content will be a refreshing departure from the norm and provide gamers with a wealth of new and exciting options.
This looks promising, but time will tell if Phantom Liberty is a worthwhile addition to Cyberpunk 2077 or a squandered chance.
