Call Of Duty Warzone 2.0 Release Date, Cost, And Platforms
On November 16, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC will get Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. It will be free to play, like the original Warzone, and it will also feature cross-play and cross-progression.
Prepare For War: Zone 2
Starting on November 14 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. BST, those who can’t wait to get into the fight can preload Warzone 2.0 for up to two days before its official release.
New Map For Warzone 2
The brand-new map, Al Mazrah, will be the most noticeable alteration to the new Warzone. According to prior information provided by Infinity Ward, the new battleground would accommodate up to 150 players and feature a total of 18 unique landmarks. There are oases, oil refineries, airports, observatories, towns, cities, caves, marshes, and much more to see.
As Al Mazrah is the parent map to multiple multiplayer maps, those who have been playing MW2 have already sampled the new map. The fortifications of Al Bagra, the Embassy, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, Sariff Bay, and Sa’id all fall under this category. Again, players have the option of playing solo or forming teams of two, three, or four.

Gulag
Also, the Gulag is getting a major upgrade: from now on, in-game bouts will be 2v2 instead of 1v1. All players will be partnered up at random and challenged to a battle against another team for the chance to respawn. In the Gulag, players will start with a basic arsenal, but stronger weapons and equipment can be found in the map’s center.
The Jailer, an artificially intelligent enemy, has the key to the Gulag, and is one of the new enemies introduced in Warzone 2.0. About halfway through the game, the Jailer will appear. When the Jailer is vanquished, all four players will be teleported back to the game proper. Activision notes this makes for an intriguing dynamic in which duos can decide to work together to take on the Jailer in a 4v1 match.
The Jailer’s main function is to hasten fights in the Gulag. In the same vein, Infinity Ward has done away with the Overtime feature, meaning that if both teams and the Jailer manage to win the match, then everyone would be instantly killed.
Changing The Circle
The map’s gradual reduction in size throughout a match is another aspect that Infinity Ward has adjusted. There will be “variations inside the circular collapse,” the developer warns. It can either collapse as a complete circle or break into two or three smaller circles that eventually merge. Each game will include a different pattern of circle reduction.
Latest News On Travel And Transportation
As the environment grows to encompass rivers, lakes, sections of the ocean, and more water-logged places, the new Warzone promises a “battle across the land, sea, and air.” Infinity Ward appears to have put in a lot of effort to enhance water gameplay, what with the plethora of new aquatic areas. Players will be able to utilize (at least some) lethal and tactical equipment, including firearms, melee weapons, and knives, while submerged underwater.
When it comes to moving about on the ground, players in Warzone 2.0 can slide, dive, and hang from ledges to look over the edge before mantling. Enemy players can now damage tires, doors, and blast-out windows, and gas will run out (though it can be recharged at gas stations or using gas cans) (these, too, can be repaired at gas stations). You can fix a flat tire on the fly by stepping out of the car and interacting with it.
Activision promoted two of Warzone 2.0’s new vehicles: the electric Hummer and the Heavy Chopper, which “can hover in the air without a pilot.”
Mechanized Questioning Device
There isn’t much we know about interrogation just yet, but it’s a new concept that Infinity Ward has promised will shake up strategies. Interrogating a fallen foe can yield information about the whereabouts of their comrades.
Individualized Weapon Setups In Warzone 2.0, players can once more craft their own unique weapon sets. Drop events and destroying Strongholds are the two primary ways to acquire new Loadouts in a match (more on these below). Alternatively, you can use the in-game currency you earn during the course of the match to purchase your primary weapon from stores (previously buy stations).
Spaces With A Lot Of Artificial Intelligence And No Humans
The city of Al Marzah is populated not just by human players, but also by artificial intelligence enemies, who can be encountered if desired. These enemies are stationed in Strongholds and will not come out to play unless they feel threatened. Multiple Strongholds will be included in each match. After clearing a Stronghold and defusing a bomb within, you and your team will be rewarded with unique weapons and access to a secret underground facility known as a Black Site.
If your team is the first to clear a Stronghold, you will receive the key to that Stronghold’s Black Site. Black Sites are home to much more lethal AI foes, but they also provide bigger prizes, such as a permanent weapon blueprint and more in-game goodies.
Listening Lists From A Third-Person Perspective
Warzone 2.0 will have third-person playlists, much to the multiplayer mode in MW2. These playlists shake things up by giving you an over-the-shoulder view of your character, rather than the usual first-person perspective. Infinity Ward claims that this facilitates “new visibility strategies” and a “changed” gameplay experience. During the first season, the playlists will air regularly.

Play In The Demilitarized Zone
A new “open-world, narrative-focused extraction mode” called DMZ will be available in the new Warzone, which was unveiled by Infinity Ward. “have free reign to perform faction-based missions, take on additional side objectives, engage with opposing operators or AI combatants, and search for precious objects, all while striving to survive toward exfiltration,” the developer said of DMZ.
Battle Pack For Warzone 2
The Battle Pass for MW2 and Warzone 2.0 will function somewhat differently than previous battle passes. The benefits of the Season 1 Battle Pass are dispersed throughout multiple sectors rather than being presented in a sequential fashion.
Tokens earned through playing the pass will not merely be used to unlock the next section of the map or a reward within a previously unlocked section of the map, but will instead be used to purchase further sectors on the map or additional items within those sectors. With the new approach, you can aim for specific skins, blueprints, and/or weaponry, expanding your customization options.

Where Does The Original Battlefield Go?
In preparation for the launch of Warzone 2.0 on November 16, the original Warzone will be unavailable beginning at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET/4 p.m. BST for a period of twelve days. On November 28th, it will be re-released under the new name Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera.
The Caldera Warzone will be a distinct entity from Warzone 2.0. In the same way that the original Warzone, Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard material is inaccessible in Caldera, the same is true for Warzone 2.0 content being inaccessible in MW2 or Warzone 2.0. According to Activision, Caldera will have “a regular battle royale playlist.”
Although your Call of Duty points are transferable between games, the original Warzone will not feature an in-game store. Activision also said that the maps of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will be wiped in preparation for the relaunch of Caldera.
