Blizzard’s Diablo 4 is a popular action role-playing game that challenges players to explore a dark and dangerous world, fight hordes of demons, and collect powerful loot. Loot is one of the game’s main attractions, allowing players to customize their characters, improve their skills, and experiment with different builds.
However, some players have discovered a glitch that exploits a bug in the game’s loot system, allowing them to duplicate items infinitely. Players can get as much loot as they want without effort, making the game’s loot-driven mechanics pointless. However, Blizzard has not yet addressed the glitch, and it is unclear whether they will release a patch to fix it.
How Does the Glitch Work?
The glitch involves visiting one of the game’s mini-dungeons called Cellars, randomly generated locations that can be found by exploring the map. Cellars usually contain a few enemies and a random event that rewards players with a chest of loot.
However, some Cellars have an event that involves saving hostages from being killed by enemies. If players fail to save the hostages, the event ends and the enemies stop spawning.
However, some players have found a way to trick the game into thinking the event is still active while making the enemies endlessly respawn. This creates an infinite source of loot, as each enemy drops items when killed.

To trigger the glitch, players need to follow these steps:
- Enter any Cellar and check if it has an event with hostages to save. If not, reset it by logging in and out or visiting another Cellar.
- If there is a hostage event, walk away and let the enemies kill the hostages. This will make the next step easier.
- Then, gather all the enemies in one spot and wait for the last 5 seconds on the event timer.
- Kill all the enemies as soon as the timer hits 0. This will make the game think the event is still happening and spawn a chest of loot.
- If successful, the enemies will start respawning infinitely, dropping more loot every time they die. Players can then collect as much loot as they want.

What Are the Risks of Using the Glitch?
While some players may be tempted to use this glitch to get unlimited loot, some risks are also involved. First, using this glitch may be considered cheating by Blizzard, and they may suspend or ban players who abuse it. Blizzard has not officially commented on this glitch yet, but they may take action against it in the future.
Secondly, using this glitch may ruin the fun and challenge of the game, as it makes loot meaningless and trivializes the game’s difficulty. Players who use this glitch may lose interest in the game faster than those who usually play it.
A video shared by Ryulen, a Reddit user, showcases a room brimming with items to the point where players’ characters become obscured from view:
Thirdly, using this glitch may cause technical issues or bugs in the game, such as crashing, freezing, or corrupting save files. The game may not be able to handle so much loot being generated at once, and it may affect its performance or stability.
Therefore, players who want to use this glitch should do so at their own risk and discretion. They should also be aware that this glitch may not last long, as Blizzard may patch it soon.
