The Larian Studios crew has managed to slip in a new update for Xbox players of Baldur’s Gate 3 just before Christmas! This one may be downloaded right now and weighs in at about 20 GB for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
This hotfix specifically addresses crashes, performance problems, and multiplayer difficulties. It also includes a few adjustments unique to Xbox. However, most of the patch notes appear to be applicable to both platforms.
For those who are curious, Larian and Xbox Support have both stated they are investigating the erased save games problem on Xbox Series X|S. However, there is currently no indication of a solution.
Larian advises turning on cross-save in the interim to safeguard your saves in case they are erased. However, some users have complained of crashes while using this feature, so we’ll see if the next update fixes the issue!
The patch notes for Xbox Series X|S’s Baldur’s Gate 3 “Hotfix #15” update are as follows:
- Crashes and Blockers
- Performance and Code
- Multiplayer
- Flow and Gameplay
- Other Fixes

- Resolved an Xbox crash that might have happened if the internet had dropped out when changing a lobby name.

- Corrected a few incorrect behaviors that were probably introduced in Patch 4.

- Karlach—whether she’s an avatar or a companion—should now receive her moment in.
- Repaired the issue where friends couldn’t jump when trailing the player character.
- Fixed a bug that prohibited you from saving the game in Act I when the tutorial ended with just Lae’zel alive.
