After Disney Dreamlight Valley, who would’ve thought that Disney would surprise us with another awesome title within such a short timeframe? Well, we’re not complaining. Disney Speedstorm is a great game. A racing game with our favorite Disney characters is a recipe for success.
With so many of our favorite Disney characters on track, it’s only normal to be stuck in a dilemma. Who should we pick, and what character works best for me? No worries, we’re here to help you answer these questions. For this article, we will bring you 10 of the best characters in Disney Speedstorm in no particular order.
Let’s begin.
1. Mowgli
Our jungle boy prides himself on his insane speed, and in a racing game, acceleration will be a factor.
Mowgli on the track is a force to be reckoned with in many ways. His absurd speed if used correctly, can allow him to blitz past many of his opponents with ease. Added to the fact that his handling is pretty decent as well, making him a top-tier character in this game.
All in all, Mowgli is a fun character to use and can almost beat any Disney racers in a flash. Who would’ve thought Mowgli would excel in the racetrack rather than the jungle?
2. Meg
Meg might not say that she’s in love but she did not say that she wasn’t one fine racer. Filled with a bag of tricks and mischiefs, Meg can cause havoc on the racetrack, giving her a significant advantage during clutch moments.
While she might not have one stat that she excels in, Meg is a very versatile character, a well-balanced one that relies on game-planning and theory crafting. Her biggest asset is her Unique Skill that boosts her speed for any opponent she bolts past. This can be used as a good race finisher or catch-up tool.
A great character to use and can easily turn a losing situation into a winning one.
3. Belle
Belle is somewhat similar to Mowgli where speed is like her middle name. Her Acceleration stat is amazing. Combined with her Handling stat, she can blow her opponents away if you utilise her properly.
Fortunately, Belle is regarded as an easy character to use. Her special move is pretty straightforward. It is like a disable/stun that can keep her opponents immobilized. As such, she is not all about speed and has some tricks of her own. This can come in clutch during do-or-die moments.
4. Li Shang
The reliable general of Ancient China is a jack of all trades with decent stats and a very good Unique Skill. When his skills are used appropriately, Li Shang is a beast on the track, while being invulnerable at the same time.
All of this is down to his overpowered Military Might. Once it is activated, Li Shang will be protected by a shield while also stunning opponents simultaneously. This is a very multipurpose tool that is useful in any situation. Although we do recommend using it to close out the game, in case you notice enemies are catching up, this move could be the ace in the hole.
5. Captain Jack Sparrow
It’s almost ironic that Jack Sparrow could be such an adept racecar driver given the fact that he mainly operates a pirate ship. At peak speed, Jack Sparrow is one of the best in the game. So, once you hit the ground running, you’ll most likely see Jack Sparrow leading most of the time.
His Unique Skill is an area-of-effect disable that can change the tides of the race in a blink of an eye. It is a huge game changer but players will know when to use it to make it efficient. Make sure not just to blow it on a single target. Once they are grouped, only then is it the perfect time to use this skill.
6. Elizabeth Swann
Another iconic character from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise joins the fray in Elizabeth Swann. However, unlike Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth’s greatest strength isn’t in speed but her awesome handling stat.
As a final gambit, Elizabeth’s Unique Skill will allow her to reach insane speed for a moment in time that charges through anyone in her way, stunning them in the process as well. This is another powerful skill to close out a race, flipping over any disadvantage she might have.
With Elizabeth, you’ll need to time your skills correctly and know when to use them to bring out the best in her.
7. Mickey Mouse
It is only natural that the face of Disney should be on this list. Boasting superb Acceleration stat, Mickey’s pretty consistent with his speed and high handling makes him an easy character to control as well. A very solid character for almost any racetrack.
Trailblazer, Mickey’s Unique Skill is an awesome defensive tool that makes him invulnerable for a period of time. It’s pretty tricky to use because you might not know when is the best time to use it.
Some may consider saving it until the end, in which when you have the lead, you can use this skill to secure the win as you will not be hampered by any external skills.
8. Mulan
Arguably the greatest warrior in China, Mulan is also a queen on the racetrack that packs both raw power and trickery. To make up for her low top speed, Mulan has a whole set of utility moves that make her shine on the track. Just remember to apply them in the right situation, and she is easily one of the best characters in the game.
Her final skill is a hail mary move that blasts fireworks at her opponents, creating a humongous explosion. It’s an all-in-play and with the right timing and usage, this can decide a game by itself.
9. Donald Duck
There are just so many things that are good about Donald Duck in this game and this is why he is often regarded as one of the best characters in this game. His skill set is very aggressive, making him an entertaining character to use and a mighty reliable one.
Donald’s strongest skill mixes both defence and offence. It allows him to constantly and consistently stun his opponents making his already aggressive playstyle more devastating. A true menace to whoever is going up against him.
10. Mike Wazowski
Mike Wazowski is another speed merchant on the list that possesses high Acceleration and Handling. Both of these allow Mike to be a frontrunner on most occasions and once he has the lead, it’s pretty hard for other racers to get ahead of him.
His cheesy Unique Skill allows him to teleport ahead while moving opponents backwards can even be considered cheating. Then again, the developers thought it to be fair so who are we to argue? Why not just enjoy the chaos Mike can create and let’s abuse the living daylight out of him!
Whew! What a list and if you’ve made it all the way to the end, you’re awesome! And if you want to pick up this game for the Nintendo Switch, be sure to do so using the Nintendo eShop Gift Card from OffGamers here!
