Players have gathered on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit to highlight some of the more uncommon and exciting artifacts they’ve discovered in the game. These are items that, as the original poster, Scornz points out, are easy to overlook, yet they can be game-changing in terms of buffs.
Scornz says they’ve played through Baldur’s Gate 3 five times and “still find new items of pieces of equipment I never saw before, as I try to make a ‘perfect’ savefile with every possible (useful) item available.”
That appears to be an impossible endeavor, given that “items that are tied to certain quests or choices” exist, as Scornz concedes. Despite that, “besides these rare instances, I came across some obscure things you might have never seen, and I wanted to share what would I consider to be the rarest and easiest to miss loot per act.”
I know Smashing Stools sounds like some obscure, d-tier grunge band. Still, Scornz obtained the Club of Hill Giant Strength by destroying such an “unsuspicious inanimate object” atop the Arcane Tower in the Underdark.
This weapon’s 14 bludgeoning damage, and Uncommon status make it easy to overlook, but the Splinters of a Giant’s Might feature boosts the wielder’s strength to 19.
So, no insignificant muscle growth.
Some of the more unusual things were added to the list as a result of commenter contributions, such as the Ring of Poison Resistance, which Scornz attributes to user Metalfriends. Its “emerald glows a deep, deadly green,” and it performs exactly what the name implies: the ideal accessory for when you’re expecting poison damage.
The Bonespike Gloves are one of the most fascinating Act 3 equipment. Exoskeletal Reinforcement grants your attacks to ignore not only slashing damage resistance but also piercing and bludgeoning.

That’s a robust and adaptable set of gloves, albeit they sound a little tricky to obtain unless you know what you’re doing.
Here’s how Scornz did it.
You must plunder them from an adversary known as “Strangler Luke,” who, according to Scornz, “only appears in the event fight against the Farslayer of Bhaal Ghislev on the way to the temple of Bhaal.”
Strangler Luke appears when you attempt to cross the bridge, and you “must kill and loot him before you finish the event as his corpse will vanish as soon as the fight is over.”
There are plenty of things to look out for as you progress through your secondary playthroughs and beyond. The list continues in the lively comments section, so have a look if you’re curious about other rare Bladur’s Gate 3 items and where to find them.
