Larian Studios has stated that Patch 6 will include further updates for Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as a larger installation size.
Larian has previously announced that the patch will include new idle animations for party members in camp as well as improvements to smooches (just in time for Valentine’s Day).
In a new discussion on X, Larian said that Patch 6 would include “more than just romance” as well as bug fixes and gameplay changes that should make party management much simpler.

With Patch 6, automatically triggered dialogue will now try to prioritise your avatar as the main speaker, so your party members should stop stealing the limelight! pic.twitter.com/dy1Ai5TJ1i

Patch 6 will allow you to recruit a buddy to your party without first freeing up a place for them. It’s a nuisance to go chat with the companion you wish to dismiss and then locate someone to recruit in camp, thus this is welcomed.
Patch 6 will also ensure that any automatically prompted speech begins with your character as the speaker, not one of your party members.
This has been a particular pet hate of me, and it has even prompted me to replay battles due to this exact issue. Fortunately, this should no longer be an issue after Patch 6 is published.
The patch will be large; Larian stated that Patch 6 is 21GB and will require around 150GB of free space on the PC and Steam Deck. The fix will be available “soon” and on Mac at a later date.
