Basim, a new playable character in Valhalla, looks up to Roshan as a role model. Given his reputation as a brilliant assassin, it seems to reason that Roshan would be as well, and the beginning of her journey in Mirage hints at the events to come.
Over two years after the game’s initial release in November 2020, this DLC (together with the previously announced Last Chapter) concludes Valhalla’s post-launch content. Since Ubisoft has already stated that the final DLC for the Viking adventure will wrap up the story of Eivor, it only makes sense that it would also serve as a teaser for the next game.
The next mainstream Assassin’s Creed game, Mirage, was leaked earlier this year but was only formally revealed in September. It is scheduled for release sometime in 2023. Mirage, which is set in Baghdad some 20 years before the events of Valhalla, is said to represent a return to the franchise’s original tone.

The presumably final free Assassin’s Creed Valhalla add-on was shorter than I expected (I was spoiled by last year’s surprise Odyssey coda) but had some nice moments.
