Another leak from this week offers a potential release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage in the lack of any official information from Ubisoft. The upcoming Assassin’s Creed game will launch in August, according to a photograph released by someone posing as a GameStop clerk.
Neither an official announcement nor a leak has provided a specific release date, but if that window holds, Assassin’s Creed players may not have to wait until the holidays to enjoy the game. Instead, they may be able to play it within the next few months.
The alleged leak came from a user who provided an image of what appears to be GameStop’s interface when looking at the games that would be released in the next several months on Reddit.
While some games had set release dates, others only had broad release windows; Assassin’s Creed Mirage has an August 2023 release window. After the initial post went live, the same image was posted elsewhere on social media and can be seen below.

Naturally, some people are dubious about the game’s anticipated release date. One reason is that it might be considered a placeholder date; they frequently change and are of little use when determining a game’s release date beyond the year it will be released.
There’s always a chance that things were falsified entirely, as with any leak today. The fact that we haven’t seen much from Mirage is another reason to be dubious. By promising that Mirage will return to Assassin’s Creed’s origins rather than the more RPG-like, combat-focused entries we’ve seen recently, Ubisoft generated a lot of anticipation around the game.

Mirage may be an anomaly; people understandably want to see more of it. Assassin’s Creed games frequently build upon one another such that you can predict what you’ll get from the following one.
