The guest list for Oregon’s spring game is expected to break all previous records. The largest weekend we’ve experienced in recent memory. Friday saw the addition of 2024 Duncanville (Texas) EDGE, a huge name. On April 29, Colin Simmons made it known that he would be in Eugene to watch the Ducks.
Colin Simmons shares a tweet:

He is the most outstanding edge rusher to move to the West in recent memory. Earlier this week, fellow five-star Elijah Rushing from Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic also committed to traveling for the spring game.
Other five-star players anticipated in Eugene that weekend include Buford, Georgia, safety KJ Bolden, quarterback Dylan Raiola of Phoenix, Arizona, and edge player Dylan Stewart of Washington, DC Friendship Collegiate Academy.
Simmons weighs 225 pounds and is 6’3″ tall. He is rated as a five-star (0.9971) recruit by the 247Sports Composite, which also places him as the No. 3 recruit overall, No. 1 edge rusher, and No. 1 player in Texas.

With 45 rumored scholarship offers, the cream of college football is pushing for his commitment. Yet with so many colleges interested in Simmons, there may be one that is beginning to shine out, according to 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, who believes Simmons will choose LSU in the end.
Given that he has traveled extensively since the forecast was made on July 13, 2022, with a medium level of confidence (6/10), it might be wise to treat it with caution.
His subsequent travel to Eugene won’t be his first; he previously paid a visit there last summer. The Texas star will reportedly visit Texas A&M, USC, Florida, and Colorado before meeting the Ducks this spring, in addition to Oregon.
Cameron Williams, an offensive tackle from Duncanville who made a commitment to Oregon in the 2022 recruiting cycle, eventually switched to Texas once Mario Cristobal left.

Also, the Ducks are interested in safety Ka’Davion Dotson (2024), wide receiver Dakorien Moore (2025), and ATH Tyren Polley Jr., all of whom are standouts from Duncanville (2025).
It’s reasonable to assume that Simmons and Rushing are at the top of Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi’s list of top targets for the 2024 class of edge rushers.
